Project Goals:
- To improve surface levels
- To improve the drainage status of the pitch
- To increase hours of usage per week
Key Technical Issues:
- Uneven gradients and significant depressions
- Poor infiltration rates
- Compacted ground conditions
Design Solutions:
- Earthworks (Cut and Fill) to produce gradients within Sport England/RFU guidelines
- Installation of a primary and secondary drainage scheme
- Enhanced agronomic maintenance
Project Outcome
- A much improved pitch capable of providing between 3-6 hours of usage per week, a distinct improvement on previous conditions. A much improved maintenance scheme has ensured continued good agronomic practice in sustaining natural turf surfaces for sport.
